Ms. Salamon graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education - English/Communications and a minor in Spanish. While at Penn State, Ms. Salamon was on the Dean’s List and received the President’s Freshman Award for receiving a 4.0 during her first two semesters. She was very active with Golden Key International Honour Society, Residence Life, the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, and the Blue and White Society. Additionally, she worked as a tutor at the Undergraduate Writing Center and assisted ESL students. Ms. Salamon studied abroad at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Puebla, Mexico and is conversant in Spanish.
Ms. Salamon received her Juris Doctorate degree in May 2011 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While attending law school, Ms. Salamon was an Associate Editor of the Pittsburgh Tax Review and President of Pitt Law Women's Association. She was a research assistant for a professor where she analyzed federal court decisions for a law review article which will be published in the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. Ms. Salamon also did research on a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision and the implications to domestic violence cases. She was a Judicial Extern for The Honorable Donetta Ambrose of the U.S. District Court for Western District of Pennsylvania. Ms. Salamon also gained extensive family law experience as a Certified Legal Intern for the Civil Law Project of the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh where she drafted motions and pleadings for divorce, custody, and support hearings. She completed Protection from Abuse Training in Pittsburgh.
After passing both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bar exams, she worked for the Allegheny County Bar Association before accepting a position as an Associate Attorney with this office in January 2012. She is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, including the ACBA Family Law Section and the Women in the Law Division. Ms. Salamon is also a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Western Pennsylvania and an associate with the W. Edward Sell Chapter of the American Inns of Court.
