If you have a child custody order here in Pennsylvania, it's time to start thinking about the upcoming Christmas and New Years holidays. The holidays should be a time of fun, family, and delicious foods. Unfortunately, it can also be a stressful time and this stress can be compounded by the upcoming holiday season particularly if you are parent who is sharing custody of your children.

It's important to begin thinking about custody and the holidays now so that yourself and the other parent can make plans for the holidays and spend time with the children and your extended families with as little conflict as possible. For a lot of parents in Pennsylvania, your custody order may not include provisions for the Holidays. For example, does your custody order talk about which parent may exercise custody of the children on Christmas Day? Does it say at which time custody will be exchanged during the holidays? If you're traveling this holiday season your usually scheduled custody times and locations may not be possible! Children will be out of school at this time. Does your custody order provide for where you will be picking up and dropping off the children, if not at school?

It's already the end of October and the holidays will be upon us before you know it! The earlier we begin discussing the holidays and custody, the better the position you will be in to deal with any conflicts that may arise. This is about making sure the holidays are an enjoyable experience for yourself and your children and we are here to help.
