Melissa C. Taybron, a Pittsburgh family law attorney, graduated from Duquesne University school of Law and is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As the daughter of an elementary school teacher and a U.S. Airforce Sergeant, Melissa’s focus on the family unit and the hardships they endure during times of divorce or custody battles has aided in her career as a family law attorney.
Melissa has focused her practice in the family law field of divorce, custody, support, and equitable distribution, protection from abuse and adoption cases in Pennsylvania. Melissa has litigated multiple family law cases in various counties in Pennsylvania, is especially skilled in helping parents and grandparents navigate the often complicated legal system by providing detailed explanations, compassion and commitment to each case.
During law school, Melissa interned with Neighborhood Legal Services where she assisted clients with various family law issues, including protection from abuse actions, custody actions, drafting motions and petitions, and presenting them to the Judges in the Allegheny County Family Division. Melissa graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Political Science: Pre Law one year in advance of her anticipated graduation date, received her paralegal certification from the Community College of Allegheny County and received her Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law all while working full time.
While attending Duquesne Law School, Melissa was a member and committee chair for multiple committees in the Student Bar Association. Melissa also participated in the Trial Advocacy program at Duquesne, and was selected to compete in the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County Trial Competition. This experience bolstered her knowledge of courtroom process and procedure, a skill Melissa utilizes regularly on behalf of her clients.
Melissa is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Family Law Section, and continues to be involved in many local organizations.
